ROCKLAND COAST GUARD CITY CUP GOLF TOURNAMENT AND ANNIVERSARY
There were 76 people who registered resulting in 19 teams of four accompanied by early fog and then a beautiful sunny day. Approximately 50% were active Coast Guard personnel from the Northern New England Sector and included active Coast Guard representatives from Rockland, South Portland, and Jonesport, Maine and the other 50% were civilians. The civilian teams included a team from Rockland Fire Department and another team from Pen Bay Healthcare, additional teams were from various parts of Maine including Vinalhaven and Sandford. . . .

ROCKLAND — Rockland residents and dignitaries from throughout the Midcoast gathered June 17 at the Coast Guard pier on Tillson Avenue to bid farewell to Chief Warrant Officer Curtis Barthel of the U.S. Coast Guard. After three years as commanding officer of U.S. Coast Guard Station Rockland, Curtis will transfer to Group Humboldt Bay in McKinleyville, California, where he will serve as assistant surface operations officer.
Barthel's replacement is CWO Sebastian Arnsdorf, formerly first lieutenant aboard the U.S. Coast Guard cutter Spar in Kodiak, Alaska.
